Scaling and fouling can occur in nearly all reverse osmosis (RO) systems and WPT provides custom designed and controlled chemical feed systems for just about every process. Whether adding acid for carbonate reduction, bisulfite for chlorine removal or simply controlling pH, our chemical feed systems provide simplicity in operation and reliability for accurate metering.
Key WPT Chemical Feed Systems include:
- Acid feed systems - to lower the pH and decrease calcium carbonate precipitation by converting it to free carbon dioxide and controls solubility of some compounds
- Caustic feed system - to control solubility of some compounds and is used for pH neutralization after acid feed.
- Bisulfite feed systems - to remove chlorine, which can hydrolyze RO membranes
- Biocide feed systems - to prevent biofouling from microorganisms
- Antiscalant feed systems - to prevent scaling such as silica deposits
- Sodium hypochlorite - to reduce total organic carbon (TOC) fouling.
